A garden of woodland and meadow

Not only did this garden need to unify the fine contemporary house, garden and wider landscape, but there are also were two extremes within the garden: a tall established woodland belt and open flat space with grazed meadows beyond. The design achieves this unity with swathes of perennial plants and grasses inspired by roadside verges, wildflower meadow, and winding paths through woodland plants. In addition, there is a fruit and vegetable plot, a paved space for outdoor dining enclosed by low retaining walls, and a secluded sunbathing space surrounded by tall grasses but open to the spectacular views.
